Summer has come to an end and we are back at school!
We have been very busy this summer having a lot of fun so I will do my best to get you filled in and then hopefully keep you up to speed.
As you know the summer began with the girls birthday parties, after they each had their own party and their real birthday we had our big family party! This year I took a much more relaxed approach since each of the girls had their own party, but it was still a lot of fun.

We began the day by giving Papa his (late) Father's Day gift, each of the kids painted a ceramic pot and planed flowers of their choosing in it.

The girls waiting (anxiously) to open their gifts

I made each of the girls their own mini cakes this year, here is Olivia blowing out her 5 candles!

Eileen getting ready to take out her 7!

Olivia was so excited to get the play dough ice cream shop (she had given one to her friend earlier and really, really, really wanted it), I don't know who ended up having more fun Olivia or Uncle Eric!
JULY!
At the beginning of the month I took the kids strawberry picking, and they did very well. Eileen and Olivia were great pickers and Joseph did his part and then just ran up and down the isles. We ended up with 2 flats of strawberries and ate/used them all!

Our beautiful bounty

Olivia helped me make strawberry jam this year, she mashed and poured for an entire afternoon.

Still hard at work

Our first attempt at the jam, I wasn't happy with the separation so I called Nana. It had never happened to her before so we gathered some research and decided to dump all 22 pints back in the pot and re-boil. I was so sick of strawberry jam by the end of all this I didn't get a picture of the final product-it did come out though!
Menomonee Falls does fireworks on July 3rd (Happy Birthday Jonathan) and once again this year we parked in front of the Walgreen's down the road. The kids had so much fun racing up and down the sidewalk, going in to get treats, and watching the show in the night sky.

Here is a picture of Joseph and I waiting for Daddy and the girls to come back with some snacks.

They were so excited when the fireworks started going off!

And kept going...

and going.
It was a lot of fun, but made for some very tired kiddos!
On the 4th we stayed home this year and cooked out. We ended the day with our sparklers in pajamas again. The girls had so much fun and Joseph warmed up to it.

The next day our friends the Marcins and the Sanchezs came for a visit. It was so much fun getting together and the kids did so well together!

Roger playing in the pool with the kids, I love this picture of Michelle-so nervous, yet trying so hard to let Roger do this!

I had to post this picture of Diego

Emmet loved the little lawn mower

The girls (can we still call ourselves that!) Andee, me, and Michelle

All of our kiddos, (Left to Right) Ada (Chelle's), Eileen and Olivia (mine), Sophie (Andee's), Joseph (mine), Emmet (Michelle's) and Diego (Andee's)
Ok, so I didn't get as far as I had hoped but it is a start. We are off to watch Bryan run and then a birthday party, but I will finish summer this weekend!
