Dancing

This past weekend Eileen had a friend over and the girls all put on make-up (thank you Uncle Eric and Missy), dressed up and danced to "Beautiful Music". As you can see it was a rather "girly" event, but Joseph wasn't able to keep himself from something this flashy.

There is just something about a full skirt that makes a girl want to twirl

I love this picture, Eileen in the air and her friend trying to get out of her way-check out Olivia's beautiful make-up job!

The girls putting on their "Grand Finale", note Joseph watching from the stairs...

So, after watching a little ABDC with Bryan Joseph decided to put on his own show- B-Boy stylehe started with a freeze, and went on to some moves with rhythm

Grand Finale That!

Joseph's New Bed!!
Joseph got a new bed from Great Papa last weekend, Great Uncle Bob and Uncle Brian brought it up from Chicago for him. It is a very nice bed but, it seems SOOO big compared to his toddler bed!

Joseph climbing up on his Big Boy Bed.

So happy in his new bed

Showing me how he will sleep at night time

He looks so little in his new bed.

He has been sleeping very well in his new bed, he is able to get in and out all by himself but stays in all night.

Welcome Emma Riley!
The newest member of our family made her appearance today. Jamie and Lori's daughter arrived at 7:50 this morning, she is 6 pounds 13 ounces and 20.5 inches long. Congratulations to Mom and Dad, and welcome Emma! We were not able to meet her since we still have some funky germs around here but we can't wait to see pictures and meet her in person!
Happy Valentine's Day!!
I have a little poem that describes our Valentine's Day
Eyes are pink,
Hives are red,
Ears are infected
Wish we could all stay in bed.

As you can see the kids have been sick, but are finally on the mend!!! Last Tuesday Olivia was sent home from school with pink eye, fine we have the drops so I just call the Dr. to make sure she doesn't need to see her. On Wed. she was not feeling well and had a fever, into the Dr. we go, sure enough she has a double ear infection-get her on amoxicillin and so long as she doesn't have a fever the Dr. said she could go to her Valentine's day party the next day. Thursday Olivia goes to school Valentines and treats in hand, so happy and excited!! This is when Joseph's eyes are getting goopy and pink, so I begin the drops with him. Friday Eileen was not feeling well, and stayed home from her class party, so we take Olivia and Eileen's Valentines to school, then take Joseph and Eileen to the Dr. since he now has a fever, Eileen's eyes are pink and we are out of drops. Dr. checks them out and Eileen has the start of an ear infection in one ear, and Joseph has two raging ear infections so we get prescriptions for amoxicillin for the two of them and 2 scripts for eye drops in case Bryan and/or I get pink eye (we didn't thank God). I take the two who are with me to fill the scripts, we go pick up Olivia, eat lunch and they all took naps. I was finally feeling like we were in the up swing, we knew what everyone had and everyone had meds for it...until Olivia woke up from her nap covered in hives!!! Turns out she is allergic to amoxicillin, so I call the Dr. (at 4:30 on a Friday, thank God they were still there!); they called in a new script for her ears (azithromycin) and gave me the dosage amount for banderol, so we run and get Olivia her new meds. We had planned to go to a family party on Saturday, but with all of these crazy germs we thought it best to stick close to home. Downtown had an outdoor event (we missed most of it but the kids didn't mind-they were just happy to be out of the house!), we went to a cheese tasting, got some gelato and saw ice sculptures. I am so happy that we are feeling better and able to go out in the world again!! (of course since they are now all feeling better I have been home cleaning so we don't go for round 2).

Getting Ready for Valentine's Day
For Valentine's treats we (since they were sick I did it alone this time) made chocolate covered pretzel rods.
chocolate on chocolate

Sprinkles on chocolate, which one do you think the kids preferred?

Eileen making her Valentine collection box

While Eileen was working on her project Olivia wanted to something too, we got out this kit that she picked out on her special trip to Madison.

Not to be left out, Joseph also made a project.

Olivia so excited that she got to go to school for her party!!

Showing off her treats
Valentine's Day!!!

The kids (and Bryan) woke up to treats at their spot and cinnamon rolls, Olivia was the first one up so she and I had some nice quiet time before everyone else woke up.

Eileen showing off her new HSM pajamas, Olivia is in the lower corner with hers.

The kids running to "Chilly Fest"

Joseph sharing his gelato with Daddy, he was a brave man to eat off that spoon.

Joseph standing by one of the statues, he loved touching the cold, smooth ice.

This one was not part of the competition but was so impressive! It is "Old Man Winter" blowing icy wind with two large snowflakes on either side, it also had Chilly Fest etched on the side of the "wind".

Bryan and I enjoyed a dinner of steak, roasted potatoes and asparagus while the kids had a heart shaped pizza and watched Horton Hears a Who.

It ended up being a nice weekend, but I was ready for this week when it came!

Some pictures from yesterday and today
We had fun taking pictures of everyone jumping and seeing what they looked like mid-jump!
Joseph jumping with his ball in hand.

Eileen doing a "star jump"

Olivia, I think this was her "star jump"

With the nice weather this weekend Bryan was able to grill us our first dinner of the season! Chicken, three ways and grilled asparagus.

I took some pictures of Joseph this morning after we dropped the girls off at school

Joseph walking home

After all of the melting we had this weekend and a cold night it was a slick walk this morning, this is a picture of Joseph slipping on the ice (he was fine, he thought it was funny that he fell on his "bum").

My cute boy

We found a leaf with frost on it outside our house and I guess Joseph takes after his Uncle Jonathan and investigates with his sense of smell.

The leaf we found.

The branches had the most delicate frost on them, I don't know if you can see it or not in these pictures.
