Outside Again (FINALLY!!)
We have been stuck in this house for so long, between people being sick and the true Wisconsin weather we are having I was beginning to wonder if we would ever get out again (we have already read "Where the Wild Things Are" more times than I can count!). Today we finally got to go out and play in the snow! Even though it is only 9 degrees out it felt warm because of the sun, and it isn't below zero today! Olivia was off and running as soon as we got out there, Joseph was so hesitant because even though he could walk on top of the snow it would give a bit with each step and he didn't like that. We had a blast pretending to be pirates digging up burred treasure (all of the stuff Eileen and Olivia got out the last time they were out there and didn't put away).

I have never seen Joseph so cautious, you can tell that he is very aware of his feet and if they are still under him!

I knocked a few of the very large icicles off the roof so they wouldn't fall; Olivia was so creative and made it into musical instruments. She used some of the smaller icicles to hit the larger ones and the ice mounds on the ground, it really did make some neat sounds

Olivia just being as cute as can be on one of the snow mounds

After about 40 minutes we came in for lunch and of course some hot chocolate! Their little hands were frozen, it is amazing how they won't say a word about it until we come in and take off the wet mittens though.

It was so great to get outside for a while, now let’s hope I can get a good nap out of them after lunch!
